What do you do when you lie on the bed for an hour and still can’t get to sleep? For reasons unknown to me, I had trouble sleeping few nights ago. I know that I am sensitive to caffeine when taken in the evening but I didn’t have any coffee or tea that day.
Some people would pick up a book and read when they can’t sleep while others will continue to lie on the bed no matter how long it takes. One of the effective ways to overcome a sleepless night is to put on a soothing piece of music. A calm and settled mind can be helpful to a good night’s rest. Otherwise, there are other natural remedies such as drinking a glass of warm milk, taking chamomile tea, meditating or dropping a few drops of lavender oil on the pillow. Some people with chronic insomnia would resort to the best sleeping pills but it’s always good to check with your doctor if you are planning to do so.
Another way to prevent sleepness is to eat a healthy diet and avoid overeating during dinner. A bloated tummy can cause sleepnesses, so can indigestion. Engaging in an exercise regime can be helpful in granting you a better rest at night.
