Survive Design Reusable Shopping Bags Survive Design offers creative and functional products that are as much about fashion and design as they are about the environment. They believe that workers should be paid a fair wage and have safe working conditions. They believe that the consumer shouldn't have to compromise on quality or style in order to shop ethically. The Founders David Todd grew up in England and the United States and studied English and classical violin at Oberlin College. He has lived in Brooklyn NY and Berkeley CA since 2000, working as an accessories designer on both coasts. He is an avid Urban cyclist and he believes that cities can be laboratories for modern sustainability. Survive Design is his way of using his skills to create products that embody style in balance with nature. Shana Kent is from Kansas City, where she studied Graphic Design, Illustration, and Metalsmithing at the University of Kansas. Early in her career, she honed her skills designing jewelry, housewares, handbags, product displays, and packaging. Since moving to New York in 2002, she has worked as a designer, creative director, and VP for a variety of accessories companies. Shana has been traveling overseas for more than 10 years, working in factories and design houses, and she knows the benefits and challenges for workers in the global economy. She has seen the constant over-development of new products and the use of toxic materials and treatments used to create the "next new thing". For Shana, Survive Design is a way to take her passion for design and pair it with a commitment to the environment and workers to create "friendly fashion".
