Shana Kent is from Kansas City, where she studied Graphic Design, Illustration, and Metalsmithing at the University of Kansas. Early in her career, she honed her skills designing jewelry, housewares, handbags, product displays, and packaging. Since moving to New York in 2002, she has worked as a designer, creative director, and VP for a variety of accessories companies. Shana has been traveling overseas for more than 10 years, working in factories and design houses, and she knows the benefits and challenges for workers in the global economy. She has seen the constant over-development of new products and the use of toxic materials and treatments used to create the "next new thing".
