This summer has been very interesting for us as we traveled to few Asian destinations. We did Bali, Hong Kong and Hanoi within a month and it was definitely a wonderful experience as we venture into new grounds.

Though I’m not big on beaches, simply because of my easily tanned skin, I still spend a fair amount of time outdoors and came back with a tan. Some of my friends are very conscientious when it comes to choosing the right tanning lotion and sunblock as they don’t want their skin to burn. Some people prefer to do indoor tanning and it isn’t too hard to find indoor tanning lotion reviews in the web if you don’t know what it is. Basically that has become popular for those who are afraid to go under the sun for a nice tan. It is probably more convenient too.

If you are not a big fan of the sun, so make sure you don’t forget a good sunblock and these days, you can find lots of natural ones out there.

I just finished preparing my son’s birthday invitation cards to his friends. He had attempted to make his own cards but I found it too time consuming. At this age, he tends to ‘play’ more than getting the job done so mommy had decided to get some from the stores.

I got him to pen down his friends’ names for a personal touch since it was his invitation. I only wish we can make some holiday photo cards but we just didn’t have the time. After the busy travel schedule and a whole list of tasks to complete, I just need to get the message out fast and quick.

He’s so excited about handing out the cards to his friends and it just amazes me that my baby has grown so fast!

The economy is picking up and more people are getting the jobs they want. But sometimes it puzzled me that some people can be fussy and choosy when they have been out of job for a long time.

When times were bad and people get laid off, more have decided to enter the entrepreneur market and starting a small business with their skills. I mean, starting a new business is like taking up new sales jobs – you need to know what you are in to. Basically when you are an entrepreneur, you learn to sell and market your products, even if you are just making things and selling them in ebay or etsy.

One of the things I hope to do one day is to start a small craft business and sell them in Etsy stores. It may not earn me big money but it’s inspiring and refreshing. It feels good to be spreading the artistic flair and promoting craftsmanship.

Mu hubby is into electronic and digital gadgets lately and I can see that he’s enjoying this new hobby. He just brought home a digital device and has been playing around with it for hours!

Well, I am so thankful for technology and with that, I can do so many things in the home office and outside home. With today’s technology, we can communicate with family and friends from around the world and we can even watch slide show from a smartphone. My son who is six years old is more apt in operating the mobile compared to my hubby and I can understand why!

Well, with the way things advanced, our lifestyle is packed with demands that are hard to please when things aren’t so quick and advanced. This, I wonder if it’s a good thing.

In the past, I never quite care about what I wore on my feet that complements my health. Most of the time, I buy shoes for asethetic reasons more than its functions and usability. But these days, things are different.

I just ordered a couple pairs of Birkenstock sandals online two weeks ago. After a heel dislocation, I have been very careful about what I wear on my feet. I believe that it is important to buy what’s good for our soles and heels as it can affect our posture and health. Thankfully we don’t need to settle for bad designs for ergonomic shoes these days. You can find nice walking sandals and shoes and some manufacturers have gone a step further to develop eco friendly shoes too. Just like prom dresses, you can find them in organic material too. Many designers are riding on the eco friendly hype to produce stuff that is natural for the body.

In conclusion, choose what is good for your health and body. It pays to choose wisely and you should look at these things as long term investments.

Technology revolution is becoming exciting everyday and since the invention of the iPhone, communication has never been that easy. I only jumped onto the iphone bandwagon end of last year and I’m truly impressed with the user friendliness of the phone. Even my six year old knows how to navigate and use the phone, for his games, that is!

As you may know, the iPad is now hot in the market and every techie is hoping to hold or own one. I can’t believe it when I see that there is even insurance for ipads! Imagine that! I am tempted to get hubby to buy me one but he’s going to say that I don’t need it! Well, people no longer buy techie stuff because they need it but because they like it!

With the launch of iPad, you can now buy handmade iPad cases and bags to protect your new toy. I’m still hoping to have one by Christmas!

With today’s advanced internet technology, people no longer buy things without first comparing prices. In the past, you need to physically compare prices from one person to another but now, all you need is to do a search in any search engine and you will be presented with a long list of results.

Besides using it to compare prices for things, people search the internet for information. For instance, if you are keen to find out more about green technology and green living, just enter the keyword in Google and you can read all about learning how to be green. I know that some friends of mine use it for diet pill comparison and I use it to find eco friendly products for the household.

As varied as the usage of internet, technology has become dominant in our lives and we can’t help but become dependent on it.

Yesterday, we had a nice and pleasant dinner for Mother’s day dinner. I don’t normally get a gift on Mother’s day and it doesn’t bother me at all. Sometimes buying gifts for every occasion can add on to consumerism and there are many ways to show someone we care.

Buying and receiving gifts are both nice gestures. My language of love lies in receiving gifts so it means alot when DH remembers to buy me a gift on special occsaions. But over the years, I have learned to look beyond gifts and appreciate the consistent care and love showed in little ways. In our busy careers, we often forget to take time to appreciate our dear ones and take things for granted. As such, occasions such as Mother’s day, Father’s Day and thanksgiving give us the opportunity to show our love and gratitude to those we love.

Even though Mother’s day is passed, may we not show our love only on this day but learn to appreciate our dear ones whenever we find the opportunity. Happy Mother’s day to all the wonderful moms in this world.

The weekends is here again and this is the day I’ve been waiting for! My body has been aching for weeks and I can’t seem to find the right treatment for my shoulders and back!

I don’t like working on the weekends. Yet, I have to attend a business meeting and a presentation with my hubby this afternoon. I know very little about business insurance and I don’t mind learning more about it. But when my body is aching and all I want is to sleep and lie on the bed all day long!

This afternoon, I would be searching some travel deals to Bali since hubby had said that we would be going for a short break in August. This, I look forward to do :)

I took a few days off last week and went back to my hometown to pay my mom a visit. It was always nice to go back as I really enjoyed the safety and secure environment back home. Also, I also find that there are more eco friendly products in the stores in Singapore compared to those here. It was also good that I could catch up with some old friends over a meal during the trip.

During the gathering, I chatted with a friend and discovered that she was taking an online degree for over a year. The program and its offers fit her like a T as she could continue her work life while applying what she is studying to her professional career. I got curious and started to check out some online degree websites and learned about Northwestern College. From what I understand, the college offers lots of various programs and there’s even an interesting one such as a criminal justice degree. Online degrees allow more working people to consider an advancement in their careers and work life. Plus, they can still continue working and not worry about meeting their personal commitments.

Who knows, there may come a day where an online degree that centered on learning more about the environment in the organic way. With the flexibility of online degrees, we can see more skills developed and upgraded in the years to come.
