It is always exciting to move into a new house and I’m looking forward to having my own place in the near future.
Personally I like to go furniture shopping, especially contemporary furniture where the designs are modern and impressive. I am not a country style person so anything hip will fit me very well. It looks like we can shop online for furnitures too with today’s advanced technology. Only problem is you can ‘feel’ the furniture and sometimes it can be pretty risky if you are paying alot for an item. But furnishings will be great to buy online and the choices are always aplenty!
We all know that technology has changed our world and the way we do things, communicate and work. Our lifestyle and habits are changing towards better performance and faster speed. We like to be fast and instant and we want quick answers to everything.
Even when it comes to education, we are now used to online degree programs as opposed in the past where you must go to a physical uni to get a degree. IT is more flexible and convenient and we can be sure that our lifestyle will be geared towards such technological change. Therefore let’s look ahead and discover new ways of living but don’t be too caught up with technology that we have forgotten the human touch in everything.
I had the chance to talk to some moms the past few weeks and we all agree that it’s important to prioritize our time and activities everyday. With parenting duties and housework, it can be daunting so careful planning is necessary.
Some of the moms are working as life insurance agents and they have to plan their time wisely so that they can meet clients when their children are in school. This job allows them the flexibility to control their own time and it doesn’t tie them down for fixed hours. As working moms, time is very precious and if you don’t plan carefully, life can become a rat race in no time!
I can’t wait for the weekends to come and it’s here!
It’s been a terribly busy week with so many activities and events lined up at home and out of home. I have been procrastinating on a few things and I finally got it done. Did I say that I love visiting supermarkets? There are always so many things to buy! Two days ago, I wanted to find out how to get rid of dark circles under eyes and I was stopped by a beauty counter who insisted that I tried on some products. Sometimes I became a victim of these stores and my hubby dislikes it. At the end of the demo, I ended up with a few hundred dollars worth of products and I’m feeling pretty guilty about it!
Tomorrow is beach day and I hope that it won’t be that hot really. I don’t want those freckles to stop appearing on my face!
We are rather settled in our townhouse and it’s nice to be near the park that is next to us. LIving in a townhouse means you get to hear some noises from your neighbours and my hubby thinks it’s better than total silence.
The media room in our recreational area has a samsung projector and we can book the room for movie time when we have friends around. We can also book the bbq pit which is good if you are planning for a party. Though I don’t go to the pool alot, it’s nice to know it’s there and that you can take a swim when you want to.
It’s Friday again and I’m in the mood to do some shopping. Retail therapy is good for the soul….
Gone are the days where people spend lots of money in communication. These days, you can mention free calls globally and you can hear familiar names like Skype and Viber, especially for those who have iPhones.
It is getting easier to communicate with today’s amazingly technology. You can either call for free or for pennies, it’s that easy. For business people, Conference calling is made easy with the internet and computers. In the past, business people have to fork out lots of money on overseas calls but now, it’s all easy when you have an internet line. Put on the webcam or utilize the free one in your computer and you can even see the person you are calling. Therefore there is no reason not to keep in touch anymore!
Last week, I took my boy for an interview with the headmaster and I was glad it went well.
We were sitted at the reception and he was impressed with the so many plaques in the glass cabinet. I am glad that he’s starting year one and it will be fun for him as he settles down in the new school environment. It will take a while before he gets used to the culture and school regime but kids are just so adaptable compared to adults. Now that he’s in school. we have so much to organize back home with all the boxes lying around in the garage. Hopefully we can get more things done in the next few weeks so that we can launch our new business down under!
Lately I met with alot of full time mommies and it seems that everyone has been home managers for their young kids for many years. Some are thinking about work when school starts while others enjoy the life of a home maker.
There are some jobs retail that are rather appealing for me as I am planning to get a casual job. It’s nice to work a few days a week so that I can meet new people while staying at home on some days. This sounds like a good arrangement but sometimes employers may not fancy the idea. With school commencement, I am organizing my time and doing all that I need to while my son is at school. I am looking forward to a great week ahead!
Since we got an iPad in the house, our family has been busy over the little device in different ways.
I bought it merely fornmy travel use and hubby has been using it for reading the news. My little boy seems so natural with this electronic device that I’m so afraid that he’ll become addicted. Hubby was saying that he might wanna give the blackberry playbook a try but he would first need to read the reviews first. With new gadgets it’s wise to read reviews before buying it since you don’t want to waste your money.
Perhaps I’ll convince hubby to get us a wii few months later but for now, we will just stick to what we have.
Though the culture has is different compared to where we used to live, people still need to observe security in some places.
We’ll be moving in to our new home and I’m not sure how things will be like and I guess we just have to watch and see. We may not need high end security cameras but some basic ones is worth considering as crime rate is rising too. In some suburbs it can get worse so it’s always good to be careful. Be friendly with your neighbours and they can keep an eye for you sometimes!
Things are moving so fast and I’m excited about our new adventures in this new city!
