In our home, we try to purchase cleaning agents that are free from harmful or strong chemicals as we have a young child at home. I also realize that the vapors from strong chemicals can be bad for those suffering from allergies, and I’m included in the list!
When I first started with eco friendly cleaning agents, I was skeptical about the claims of natural ingredients. But after some time, I find that they are more gentler to our family health which is why I’m sticking to them still. But always buy from the brands you trust or you may end up with a product that doesn’t deliver what it promises to do. I use my all purpose cleaners to clean my bathroom, kitchen table tops and even my Kohler kitchen faucets.
If you can’t get hold of eco friendly cleaners, you can always make your own and use natural ingredients such as lemon, baking soda and white vinegar. The web has lots of information on that and you can find lots of natural household cleaning tips that might be useful.
I was excited to learn that an eco hypermart had opened up in town. Though I have been too busy to check it out, it’s definitely good news to all who care about using less chemicals and doing their part for Mother Earth.
The only problem is, some manufacturers aren’t too credible in their claims when it comes to launching an eco friendly range of products. Just when you think it’s chemical free and all, there’s a fine print to state otherwise. It is always good to buy from manufacturers with eco friendly certification or affiliation. Even when it comes to constructing buildings, more developers are placing their focus on using eco friendly materials. Whether it be metal buildings or cement ones, there are ways to promote eco friendliness in the use of products and materials.
In our household, we hope to invest in a solar panel when we move to our new premises. This is one good way to save some energy and use less power at home. Only thing is, when the sun is not shining, we may need to endure a cold shower on a cold day!
Eco friendliness is becoming an integral part of our daily lives that even my six year old can explain to me about protecting Mother earth. Few days ago, he was explaining to me about the process of making a natural compost and I thought that was so clever.
Recently, we bought an energy monitor device for our house to help us cut down our power usage. As a result of that, we are saving some money on our electrical bills and that is also one way to do our part for Mother Nature. These days, we try not to turn on the power for electronics when they aren’t in use. Saving energy is something all of us should look into in our homes.
Small or big ways, when we do our part and put in efforts to protect the earth, we help to build a better environment for our next generation.
It is a nice thing to see that more and more shoppers are bringing their own bags to the stores. This is a good idea cos last plastic bags are going in to the bin. As such, more eco bags are being sold in the market and some of them are just too expensive.
Trendy eco bags are nice to carry but you don’t need to spend alot just to do your part for Mother Nature. I just find that some merchants are taking the opportunity to overcharge shoppers for eco bags instead of promoting eco friendliness at the truest state. While checking out any best acne medication in the shops, I saw heaps of eco bags that are of different brands and some of them are overly priced. Being fashionable is one thing, but being ‘real’ is another.
So don’t worry about funky eco bags cos any reusable bag is doing Mother Nature a good favor. Put one foldable one in your handbag the next time you go shopping. This is your part for the environment.
With the eco friendly trends expanding to the manufacturers of fashion clothing, even sports retailers are riding on this wave. You can now buy sportswear that is eco friendly and made of organic material.
I’ve only had a couple of organic cotton tops and I love them for their sheer softness. They don’t come cheap but I suppose it’s normal to pay more for organic products. While reading about some body fat burner reviews, I came across some cool green fashion clothing from Greenloop and the site offers lots of casual and chic clothing that are friendly to the environment. Organic cotton, distinctive design and unique cuts from various eco designers, you can find a wide array of contemporary clothing to set you apart from the usual fashion trends.
So check out Greenloop, specializing in sustainable fashion for men and women.
This week, we will be shopping for new mattresses for our new home and I’ve begun my research in the internet and it’s exciting. With so many various kinds of mattresses around, from eco friendly ones to all natural quality, it can be hard to find the ‘perfect’ one.
Compare Leading Brands. Look For Real Value.
Basic economics tells us value is not the cheapest price…it is how many features and benefits you receive for the price. Higher prices usually mean more features and benefits, which mean better support and comfort for you. So invest in yourself. Buy the best quality sleep set your budget will allow. You deserve the best!
For someone who is a lighter like me, I have learned to treasure sleep quality. Yet, many of us have failed to notice that we spend one third of our life sleeping. I have also stopped looking at the aesthetics but depend more on the quality and technology behind the making of the mattress. “On sale” specials may look like bargains, but how well do they support you…and how long will they last? A quality sleep set is designed and engineered to provide you with proper support and comfort for years and years. High quality beds are a better investment, because it will cost you less to sleep on per night than an ordinary a bargain “special”. When we were shopping for furnace filters, we were looking at cost savings in the area of maintenance. In everything that you pay for, you want to think long term. For me, I hope to find eco friendly ones that is good for our health and delivers the best for the family
Remember…you spend one third of your life in bed. More individual sleeping surface means a better night’s rest.
One of the simple ways to practice eco living is to consider cycling to nearby shops instead of taking the car. I got this idea when I was reading a newspaper article some time ago.
There are many people who cycle to work in Japan since parking is costly in the busy cities like Tokyo and Kyoto. I was telling my hubby that I would like to buy a bicycle when we move to Australia. And since we work from home, we would probably need a car instead of two. This can help to reduce pollution and gas exhaust! I was discussing this with an acquaintance in Link Building Chicago business and he was talking about how having a home office is eco friendly too. No traffic jams, less driving, less fuel consumption and more productive.
With this weekend knocking at our doors, it’s time to stay at home and do some homely things and not take the car unnecessarily. That, to me, is eco living in a simple sense.
After more than six months, I had finally made an appointment to have my pedicure done and I just realized how much I really missed that!
I like sitting by myself while someone takes care of my nails – that, to me, is quality me-time. I am hoping that someone will start a nail salon using only natural nail color so that’s one good business opp to think about. A magazine I was reading was featuring an eco friendly campaign for the home and it made me happy to know that more modern women are now embracing green living principles. That would also mean to have less and stop buying things you don’t need to. With eco friendly practices, more mothers are sending out baby shower invitations printed on natural pulp and some even ordered from small business owners who work from home.
With a little practice and environmental consciousness, living green for the family can be both fun and meaningful. And it’s really not too late to get started.
When it comes to marketing a product that is natural and eco friendly, consumers can expect a natural look on the packaging with little frills or colourful images. Since it’s all about green living, it should appealing, clean looking and minimal in the design.
I was shopping for a natural skincare range in my regular organic store and learned that organic or natural products should have a self life not longer than two years to preserve the freshness. It’s good to know that natural products are also designed for acne treatments and sensitive skin to provide consumers for choices for eco living. While a product may claim that it’s natural, always look at the ingredients to know what’s found in that tube or jar of skincare.
If possible, make a comparison on prices before purchasing on what is claimed as ‘natural’ for your skin.
Yesterday I went shopping before a meeting and noticed two natural and organic stores had opened in the mall. For some time, I’ve been reading about these labels but haven’t get a chance to shop in the stores cos they are only available in the US but now, things are different.
There are lots on natural products for the home these days. They aren’t expensive to buy and they are much safer than traditional products which contain lots of chemicals. Even if you are in outdoor fireplaces, there are eco friendly wood available for the green living advocates. Perhaps it may cost abit more but I’m sure the prices will come down when demand is higher. Eco friendly wood can also help to reduce air pollution which is beneficial to the environment.
Green living isn’t that hard and it can start in little steps. And it’s never too late to start too.
