A good sunblock is necessary to protect your face from being burnt and it can be helpful for those who are avoiding those brown spots. So head down to the beauty corners and grab a natural sunblock with a high SPF. I recommend nothing more than 30 and some would say 18. Anything higher can clog your pores, the experts say.

Singapore is a great place for me to buy my favourite designer clothing and beauty brands. I was tempted to try out a new whitening range but didn’t get time to visit the counter. I used to go hunting for best wrinkle cream and best eye cream but after a while, I don’t know if there’s ever any ‘best’ around. Dr Hauschka, a holistic skincare label remains my favourite and Jurlique is next as it is biodynamic. Sometimes all these terms can be mind boggling and we really wonder what is ‘holistic’ and ‘bio-dynamic’!!

Well, I guess it’s hard to choose eco friendly beauty brands for the entire face but you do what is best for your skin. After all, it’s what you are comfortable with that matters and you would want to pick what works best for you… eco friendly or not.

Then it goes on and on to reaching maturity where you invest in anti aging skincare. Not forgetting looking for good skin products to treat those stretch marks. When I was expecting, I use a couple cocoa butter stretch marks to minimize the appearance of those unsightly lines. Then there are more beauty concerns including cellulite, sagging skin, fine lines, wrinkles, hair loss and the list goes on.

No wonder the beauty and health is growing with brand owners expanding their product range to organic and natural ones to entice those of us who embrace eco living. As the choices grow, let’s learn to read the labels and be an informed shopper who knows what is worth paying for.

I was shopping for a natural skincare range in my regular organic store and learned that organic or natural products should have a self life not longer than two years to preserve the freshness. It’s good to know that natural products are also designed for acne treatments and sensitive skin to provide consumers for choices for eco living. While a product may claim that it’s natural, always look at the ingredients to know what’s found in that tube or jar of skincare.

If possible, make a comparison on prices before purchasing on what is claimed as ‘natural’ for your skin.

Two weeks ago, I was shopping in the mall when I took note of Juice Beauty organic skincare range. I’ve heard about Juice Beauty for a long time but I haven’t personally tried the products yet. The shop front was a nice white and green as it complements the signature ingredient of the Apple for a range of the products. After talking to the shop assistant, I was glad to learn that the organic makeup range would be arriving in the stores next month. I have read that organic makeup is better for adult acne treatment since it does not contain chemicals that will trigger more breakouts.
